Decolonization Club

The monthly membership for people who started asking questions and couldn't stop.

You always knew something
was missing from the story.

Start Unlearning

You're not uninformed.
You're under-equipped.

You've felt it.

Someone says something about your culture, your country, your people.

You know they're wrong.

But you can't explain exactly why.

Because the version of history you were given didn't give you the tools.

It gave you the edited version.

The approved version.

The version that left out the parts that would make you ask too many questions.

Maybe you grew up between worlds.

Belonging fully to neither.

Translating yourself constantly.

You've started reading on your own, but it's scattered, and you don't know how it connects.

Or you make content about culture and identity.

And you feel the gap between what you intuitively know and what you can actually back up.

The difference between a feeling and an argument.

Or something just cracked open recently.

And now you can't unsee it.

You want to go deeper.

And you don't want to do it alone.

You are not behind.
You were just handed an incomplete map.

I Want The Full Picture

This is not a history class.

You will not

  • Memorize dates and treaties
  • Be handed someone else's interpretation and told to agree
  • Sit through lectures designed to overwhelm you
  • Leave with a certificate and the same way of seeing the world

You will

  • Build the lens yourself
  • Learn to read power wherever it shows up
  • Know exactly why something feels wrong and be able to say why
  • Stop softening what you know to be true
I've been waiting for this

Stop being grateful for half the truth.

You don't wake up one day and decide to decolonize your mind.

You get tired.

Tired of playing by rules you never agreed to.

Tired of the story they tell about you, your people, your history.

Tired of knowing something is wrong but not having the language to say what.

You're done being fed half the story.

They have always called people like you dangerous.

Radical. Troublemaker. Too much.

Let them.

Add me to the club

Structure for the unlearning.

Not a lecture or a passive course, but a monthly rhythm built around real texts, real discussion, and the kind of thinking that doesn't stop when the call ends.

The Book

One book. Chosen because I believe it will crack something open in you that doesn't close again.

The case study

One case study. Real people. Real places. Because theory is easier to dismiss than history that actually happened.

The calls

Two live discussions. Your opinion belongs here. Your questions belong here. Bring them.

And after a few months of this?

The way you see the world shifts permanently.

And the longer you stay, the deeper it goes.

There is no bottom to this rabbit hole.

That's not a warning. That's the point.

Take me inside

June (Opening Theme): The Gentlest Weapon

We open with the mission civilisatrice (how France sold colonial conquest as a humanitarian project) and Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o's Decolonising the Mind, the book that will change how you think about language forever.

Week 1 - Wed. June 3rd

7pm GMT+1

Case study discussion: The mission civilisatrice. How conquest gets repackaged as generosity, and where that logic is still running.

Week 2 - Wed. June 10th

7pm GMT+1

(Inner Circle only) Hot seat: Bring the questions that's been sitting with you since Week 1.

Week 3 - Wed. June 17th

7pm GMT+1

Book discussion: Decolonising the Mind. Why language is the first site of colonial power.

Week 4 - Wed. June 24th

7pm GMT+1

(Inner Circle only) Decolonial Lens: Why the most prestigious schools in Morocco are still French, who sends their children there, and what that says about what we were taught to value.

"Colonialism does not end when the colonizer leaves. It ends when its logic stops living inside us."

Go Deeper

Hi, I'm Soumaya

I am not an academic.

I spent years in corporate going nowhere. Not failing, just surviving. Day in, day out, the same loop. Until I realized that the life I was living had been designed for me by someone else, and I had never once been asked if I wanted it.

So I left.

I started reading. Not assigned reading, but the books that sparked my curiosity. And something strange happened. I felt like I was discovering things I wasn't supposed to know. Like I had found a door that wasn't meant to be open and walked through it anyway.

I couldn't stop.

I am not an expert. I am not here to lecture you or hand you the definitive version of history. I am a few steps ahead on the same path you are on. Curious, still learning, still finding new doors.

What I am good at is finding the thread and following it. Making the complex make sense. Asking the question underneath the question.

The Decolonization Club is the room I wish had existed when I started walking through that door alone.

Now we walk through it together.
